I bought this for distilling essential oils. That is listed in the name as what it can be used for.No.I don't know what kind of set this is, but no. It is not too distill essential oils.There isn't a way to block the condensation from leaving the flask forcing it into the coil tube. There isn't a way to separate the hydrosol from the oil.The corks that came with it don't fit into the flasks.It didn't come with any kind of instructions on use or assembly.It was packaged well. The box was beat up even though it had a fragile sticker, but everything arrived in one piece due to stellar packing.The product is a solid setup, as mediocre as you'd expect for something so cheap.The glass seems to be properly heat resistant, with no problems yet.The case is just a cheap tool box and is not very portable as is, I'm gonna use some Eva foam and an old briefcase for packing it up safely.The condenser arrived broken originally, but they sent me a new one, with an extra really cool thermometer. The correspondence over email was perfect, even with the language barrier.After all of this, the new condenser arrived on the date the original was supposed to arrive.When the kit arrived one hinge on tool box was broken. One stopper (the one for the thermometer) was to small. I went to the hardware store to get the proper size and drill a hole in it. Most frustrating was discovering that the condensation chamber had a crack in the final bend which allowed cooling water to flow into the catch beacon.Very frustratingBut that’s science. Now looking for a better producteven though packaging was great one flask was broke. it was the flask to hold the burning wick . I requested a return or replacement for the flask. awaiting response. purchased for my 13 yr old who loves chemistry.
