In all honesty, this didn't live up to the Allied Brass hype. They tout the "all brass" construction and charge a premium price for their products, but this was nothing special. The brackets are nice enough, a good heavy item with a nice finish, but the bar is another matter.Very thin-walled tubing of less than one half inch O.D., it feels cheap and not up to the standards of the brackets. In addition, the finish on the bar was badly marred in several places, despite layers of bubble wrap, the black finish scuffed and rubbed and the primer color showing thru.It was sold as new, but at a substantial discount price of about $30, not the $135 listed. This makes me wonder if I got a return or a defective product vs. the new, Allied Brass towel bar I was expecting; sometimes things seem too cheap for a reason, although I thought maybe it was a discontinued style or something.Ah well, I'll still use it - towels on the rack will cover the finish issues on the bar most of the time anyway, but at $135 you can bet it would have been quickly returned!Last, their product page on Amazon is horribly deficient on details, the packaging was falling apart when it got to me, and there are exactly zero instructions or helpful hints included. If you've ever mounted a towel bar with the wall bracket, end piece with set screw which attaches to the bracket, and free bar before it will all be very familiar, but some DIYers have not, so it seems an oversight.
