The sandwich plate is very well made. I replace the thermostat with a higher temperature unit (93C, 200F) which was very straightforward. The sandwich plate was also very straightforward to install, much easier than removal of the factory unit. You shouldn't have any problems assuming you have the clearance for it. I also installed a temperature gauge at the same time, with the sender going in this sandwich and can see that the sandwich plate is working well. Oil temperature stayed between 180F and 200F (this is with the optional 200F thermostat) with very gentle driving on surface streets as well as at highway speeds. Spirited driving resulted in a maximum oil temperature of 230F, but this is very dependent on the sizing of oil cooler and oil cooler lines. I just wish one could buy one of these with the desired thermostat already installed.
