The first one died after 15 years due to user error. The old unit worked perfectly with zero maintenance. We locked/unlocked at least 3 times a day and there was no evidence of wear and tear. I was strengthening our door and I accidentally drove a structural screw into the unit. I'm so happy that these are still sold -- in fact, I bought the same exact one so it was a drop-in replacement.There's no burglar in the world who will spend 10+ minutes trying to guess the code through brute force. If they're that determined, they might as well break the window adjacent to my front door and get in within 10 seconds.Quality is excellent. Made in Japan. If I had more front doors, I'd buy more of these locks!
