It was real easy to hook up and use I have used it on three different vehicles and only one had to manually enter serial number in besides that working great and I haven't had to use the tech support so I can't wait to give it five StarshipNo estoy muy familiarizado con hacer reparaciones con los carros, pero con este equipo lo he realizado por vez primera, me dice donde está la falla y asi he echo la labor ahorrandome la mano de obra.I finally got a chance to use this when my check engine light popped on. It worked well to report the code and to ultimately turn the light off by clearing the code. I have other code readers, both cheap and expensive. This one is in the middle, which is a crowded field. But it pulled codes that a more expensive scanner did not (for a faulty aux windshield washer motor!)What I like:1. Multi-Vehicle compatibility.2. Nice bright LCD screen.3. Nice carrying case.4. Solid build - not cheap or flimsy. It would survive a drop or two.5. Comprehensive instructions. I appreciate instructions that are useful. These are.6. Vehicle identification through VIN. You can enter it manually if it is not detected automatically.7. Decent interface - not touch screen - but navigated with buttons. It's not the best interface I have used, but it is better than a lot of them.8. Oil and/or maintenance interval reset included in this reader. They don't all have that functionality.9. Live data for a handful of items. Very useful in certain instances like steering angle sensor! What I didn't like:1. Switching between modules or main menu features, often required re-identification of the VIN.2. The interface is more convoluted than it needs to be. It could be simplified to be more easily navigated.3. Other units I have, both cheaper and more expensive load much more quickly than this one does....maybe it does a more exhaustive search, I don't know, but it is definitely slower to run.Bottom line:I think this is a good product. It pulled codes my Autel reader did not. I can't say unequivocally that it is worth it's higher price in the competitive "mid-level ODB scanner" market but it does have several features and reads modules that cheaper ones do not. I would conclude that if you do not need ABS or SRS or Transmission code scanning then get something cheaper. But if you have multiple makes of cars like I do, each with their own set of ongoing problems, this one is not a bad reader to have in your arsenal. It has a Swiss Army Knife of features, so reporting the code - no problem - but clearing the code.....your mileage will vary depending on your vehicle compatibility and what your error actually is.**Bonus material for you**I made a big mistake when connecting this reader to my OBDII port on a BMW X5. I connected the cable to the car's OBDII port and then began connecting the other end of the cable to the Romondes code reader. The connection to the Romondes code reader is a serial port connector, like you used to have on your computer monitor before they became USB connections. I think I did not go in cleanly and some of the pins on the connector either grounded or touched a pin connector they weren't supposed to, but my car alarm began blaring and once I got it shut off, my central locking system was not functional - not by console buttons nor by the key fob. I don't know if it is a BMW thing or if it is across the board, and I do NOT believe it is specific to this reader, but as a practice I will now ALWAYS connect the reader's cable to the reader unit first, THEN connect to OBDII on any vehicle going forward. Fortunately, it was just a fuse that was blown.....but for a moment I was feeling really stupid for being careless. Live, learn, share.Let you no everything that going on with your car/truck love itDefinitely worth the purchaseWhich, indeed there is not shortage of quality here, that's for sure! And YES, it DOES come with an SD card reader! It's likely just the first SD card reader many of us have seen that looks like this one. See the little dongle that plugs into a USB-A port that has a little cap on it? Well, when you take the cap off, look really closely at the part that slides into a port. Maybe even go ahead and hold it up right next to another USB-A connection from something, if it will help. But you should notice a tiny little slit, that's actually on the same side that plugs into a computer, and yes, THAT is the gosh darn SD card reader! ? Heck, I had no idea that existed yet either. Y'all will have to excuse me sometimes, as I do live in the 2nd to dumbest state in the nation, just 30 minutes from the state line of the state that enjoys the title of, "Average Lowest IQ in America." Hey, no offense to anyone, that's just how it is. Out of everyone I know, I don't just have the most powerful computer, I'm the only one that even HAS a personal computer! But anyway... The listing for this OBDII scanner pretty much covers everything. And besides that, I still have a lot to learn about it myself. It's a little tricky updating the unit, but it gets easier once you know you have an SD card reader, or if you had one to begin with anyway. Oh, and I guess you have to have a computer too then, or access to one. Because what they have you do is go to their website and download a program with, "exe," on the end. You know, like the ones you download on personal computers? If there's a way to do that with a cell phone, I'm sure not aware of it. As far as I know, programs on cellular phones always have, "apk," on the end of their titles. And so, to the makers of this OBDII code scanner, that's something y'all should start to take into account, about having to have a personal computer, you know? Because a lot of people just really don't have them these days. Heck, cell phones are starting to have upwards of 16 gigabytes of frigging memory! And an Amazon fire TV stick? It's basically a computer itself too! It has data storage, a data memory, a GPU, AND a CPU! Basically, all you folks that engineer this thing need to do, is make that, "RomAssist," program, to also be available as an, "apk." Hey, maybe that's a lot harder than I can imagine it would be, lol. I'm always learning too. Y'all gotta admit, it's not easy to keep up these days... All I'm saying is, by doing that, just imagine how many more people could suddenly consider getting your OBDII scanner, that are passing on it right now only because they don't have a personal computer.
