This faucet set went together easily by me, a non plumber DIYer, with all of its rubber gasket joints that sealed without any problems. The review on here that complained about the lower joint described the situation very accurately except for one thing they missed- the plastic retainer c clip needs to be removed for assembly, it's just there to hold things in shipping. Unfortunately the instructions don't mention that, you have to look at the parts diagram where it is not shown as part of the faucet. Another puzzle for a non plumber is that the nipple that is supplied as the last part on the bottom connecting to your plumbing is typical for being found under a sink faucet, where normally a sink supply line with a rubber cone gasket threads onto the bottom. The top end goes into the valve with NPT taper threads; the bottom is IPS straight thread, which is going into a hole in your floor where there is no sink supply line, just pipe. This nipple needs to be taper threads on both ends, so you'll have to figure out how to adapt it.
