Came with a thumb drive..no written instructions..Does not list a BMW 1997 z3Using it for my X5 and 328i and Saab 95; easy to use and i save some money doing myself.This is the first time I've heard of this brand. However, the product seems and feels solid. It works well and is rather quick. It is capable of reading so many different codes. I'm even unfamiliar with how to utilize some of its functions. If you are a do-it-yourselfer when it comes to your automobile, this is a tool you should use. It is unquestionably a professional-grade instrument. I'm not sure why it's so pricey (maybe it's the chip), but in the long run, it's worthwhile.This very capable scan tool has notable pros and cons, but in my opinion the pros still end up winning in the end by far. I have two other similar mid-range scan tools that are both faster and easier to use than this one, but the strong points of this tool lie in other areas that are more valuable to me anyhow.Both of my other mid-range scan tools only include a limited number of premium features without having to pay additional money for more, but this tool includes nearly all of the same features with it for no extra cost, and even has the advanced bi directional capabilities on top of that.Although I admit I still usually use my other scan tools first, I still consider this one to be my big guns held in reserve, and I am glad for it to cover my back when I need it. I have tested several so far and can say some are way easier for a non-professional than others. I have tested a couple that were nice units but definitely for a professional.All of the scanners I have tested did way more than I would ever use but how easy it was to use the things I needed was the true test.I can say a beginner will be able to pick this up and, with very little stress, have it up and running. I am not familiar enough to try out the advanced test stuff, heck I don't know what a lot of it is. Basic things that most people will use are easy to figure out and navigate.The only negative thing for me is the screen size. I have gotten spoiled with large screen scanners and it would be nice if this screen was bigger but it is a trade off .... you are getting a feature packed scanner at a reasonable price and a larger screen would cost more.I feel like this scanner has a good balance between features, screen size and cost.This robust tool features bi-directional communication which many tools at this price point do not feature, and is an important option when troubleshooting certain modules on modern vehicles which are sensor heavy. Also features ECU and Injector coding which also sets this unit apart from many others at this price point. This small, lightweight and rugged package packs a punch, offers tremendous flexibility and can stand the rigors of a professional shop or advanced level DIY/enthusiast. Comes complete with cables, 32GB of built-in memory and features a color touch screen interface. Covers various modern cars and models from Asian, European and Domestic manufacturers in the US. Printable data via your PC, 3 years worth of product updates, and 1 year of hardware warranty round out this stout package. This unit would be the little step brother of the Xtool D7 in features and functionality (It has bi directional communication although less features than the D7). Something to consider when choosing your next tool.Arrived nicely packaged. So I was hesitant to order this as I was not too familiar with this brand. Upon arrival I took it out the box and gave it a go. It was a pleasant surprise that this scanner worked very well. Has bidirectional controls, talked to the modules without any issues. Has live data, works pretty fast does not lag or freeze. Feels nice and rugged, nice size and nice responsive screen. Comes with 3 years of free online updates which is a big plus in my eyes. Overall for the price I think this is a good scanner. Works as described!This scanner does exactly what I expect it to do. I can get the fault code myself, search for them on the internet and find an explantation of the code to determine if I can fix it myself or fix it by a professional.I use it to read and erase the fault code, works well. This is a good diagnostic tool that save me a lot of time and money, to check for vehicle failures and pay for repairs.Reasonable price, good quality and easy to use. That's why I purchase it.Highly recommended!
