The reason for the low rating is mainly the price. It’s decent enough looking, but the quality is not commensurate with the cost. This Hanukiah will work well, but it is at the most worth about $40, especially as the total cost came to close to $100 with the shipping and taxes! It is Not Pewter but rather made of a cast “pot” metal that would just snap if bent too much. It could also do with a slight straightening of some slightly bent arms, although they don’t look that bad, and I don’t dare try to straighten them. It does have a pewter-like finish with a shiny clear coating. One side is about ¼” higher than the other, with an average height of 14” and a width, at the top, of 13-1/2”. The candle holders have aluminum cup inserts that are removable. These inserts are about ½” in diameter and ¾” deep. So they work for large candles or oil globes. It will do, it just costs too much for the quality.
