I've never seen a skincare product with such interesting ingredients! I actually had to look them up because while I was familiar with the existence of blue butterfly pea flowers and blue tansy, I'd never heard of mongongo oil or andiroba oil, let alone what they might do for my skin. While I'm still not familiar with them, I brushed up on what to expect and it looks like there's a lot of antioxidants and soothing ingredients in here!I absolutely love that this brand uses organic and wild harvested ingredients and supports small farmers. Those are unusual things to see in this day and age of big companies sourcing ingredients that they can get the cheapest. The fact that it's cruelty free is a big bonus as well. The oil itself is a medium sage green color (I somehow expected blue, probably because of the blue tansy and butterfly pea) and has a thin texture. It has a strong smell that's hard to describe. It's slightly floral, herbal with a subtle undertone that shells vaguely of sage grass and something balsam-like.I don't mind the scent itself, it actually smells rather nice (though I can see it being very polarizing, to be honest). I almost always avoid scented facial skincare, but exceptions are made if I can stand the scent and it comes from the ingredients themselves.Using just one drop, my skin felt luxuriously smooth, though the oil took a while to sink in. Once it had absorbed, my skin was left without any sort of a greasy film. I think possibly two drops could be better, but I'll be continuing to start with just one.The price point is high, especially for only an ounce of oil, but considering the difficulty and expense in sourcing the active ingredients and the nature of obtaining them (organic farming and wildcrafting), you're not likely to see a product like this at a soggy lower price point. At least not without cutting some serious corners.Overall, I thought this facial oil was great. Expensive, but great. I'm both glad and sad that I was introduced to this brand, because now I have an expensive new obsession! If I can afford it, I'll definitely be buying more once this bottle runs out. This is wonderful.
